Reception

We take Reception children into school in two classes in the September of the academic year (Sept- Aug) in which they become 5 years old. Each class is staffed by a class teacher and at least one full time Learning Support Assistant.

All children will be admitted into school full time in the September but with a gradual induction period over the course of the first two or three weeks.  The curriculum and activities will reflect the age of the children particularly the very youngest.

The classes provide an environment of continuous provision mixed with whole class, group and individual teaching activities. They work on topics which reflect the children's interests and their learning development.
